The grace we celebrate as Christians and as children of the Reformation is free, undeserved favor which is lavish, uncalculating, and surprising in its loveliness.

The grace we celebrate as Christians and as children of the Reformation is free, undeserved favor which is lavish, uncalculating, and surprising in its loveliness.
As I read through the lectionary readings for this season, many of them centered around love: God’s love for us and the call of Christ’s followers to love each other. Thus, that refrain echoes throughout these resources.. Another theme that began with Mark’s account of the women at the tomb is that of doubt and faith and how closely the two reside in each of us.
As worship planners and leaders we spend so much effort and time making sure others can dwell in the story of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, to rediscover his mercy and grace through his passion, we sometimes forget the story we’re telling is also for us.
