New Way to Get Choral Music
A new service concept has been initiated by Christian Music Clearing House. This organization is currently working with over fifty churches and has over 3,300 preowned choral music titles available for purchase, rent, or borrowing. The clearing house charges an annual fee and provides, in addition to suggested negotiation information, an inventory list of all available materials. Hispanic Liturgical Commission
Last year, a group of Hispanic denominational leaders were invited to participate in a meeting of the Worship and Arts Commission from the Unit on Education, Communication, and discipleship of the National Council of Churches. The purpose of the meeting was to focus on Hispanic worship and to dialogue on the needs of liturgical resources for the Hispanic peoples.
In one of the meetings, the Hispanic group decided to constitute itself as the Hispanic Liturgical Commission with the purpose of serving as a linkage among the denominations in the area of liturgy, to share new resources, ideas, or programs. The commission was assured of a small fund by the Worship and the Arts Committee to be able to initially publish a newsletter where these resources, ideas, programs, and events can be announced.
